About Dr. Kordestani
Dr. Kordestani brings to The Associates more than 20 years of experience. He initially came to Amarillo in 2004 after completing his general surgery training at UCLA and at UCSF-East Bay in San Francisco. He had further training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Oklahoma. Once he arrived in Amarillo, he became quickly ingrained into the surgery teams here. He also began to teach at the university with the other surgeons from Texas Tech.
Dr. Kordestani has now been in Amarillo for more than 15 years. He continues to be actively involved in teaching and with the hospital systems, including both the Baptist Hospital and the Trauma hospital at NWTH. He was the former Chief of Surgery at NWTH. Over the years, Dr. Kordestani has earned many awards both regionally and nationally. He has a particular interest in abdominoplasty and abdominal surgery. He also has an interest in microvascular surgery and complex hand reconstruction. He continues to be active academically both at the university and as one of the Editors of the Panhandle Healthy Magazine.
